Happy New Year from Adams County Winery!

Hopefully, everyone had a fun and festive holiday season. It's hard to believe it's over. The Winery was quite busy during the holidays, meeting new friends and staying in touch with all of our old friends, but now, we're concentrating on getting ready for another great year. Needless to say, it was quite a year in 2007. We extend our thanks to all of you who visited us last year and helped to make our 2007 a wonderful year!

We have lots of exciting things planned for 2008! So, sit back with a glass of your favorite Adams County Winery wine, and read on!

Crushing of the Blueberries

Boys Crushing the Blueberries

Luke, Robert, and Evan are crushing blueberries, picked from our own blueberry bushes, in preparation for fermentation. We'll keep you posted on when we release our blueberry wine.

"Name That Wine" Contest

We need your help! We're gettin' ready for our newest wine release, never before created. The wine will be released in February and we have no idea what to call it!

To give you a little background on the wine: we created this wine to celebrate St. Patty's Day, the wine is green in color, and is totally yummy. The plan is to number each bottle as it comes off the line. The number will be displayed as the "Limited Edition No." on the label.

Here's the deal, we're having a contest to name this wine. Simply submit your suggestion as to what we should name this wine to newsletter@adamscountywinery.com. Deadline for submissions is Feb. 6th. If we pick your wine name for our newest wine release - only one will win - you'll get the recognition for naming the wine, and the first bottle off the line, with the Limited Edition No. 1, signed by our famous vintner, John.

I can't wait to see what you guys come up with - start thinking and sending in those ideas!

Vintner's Report

Hello, campers. I trust that your holidays were terrific! We had fun here. Number one son visited from Colorado, where he is a graduate student at Colorado State University. Number one daughter and her husband joined us for a belated Christmas celebration. Good times.

I think I announced in the last newsletter that I have entered yet another mid-life crisis, and purchased a 2003 Indian Spirit Motorcycle. Number one son and I went on a first day ride on January 1st, and then another ride during the warm weather that we had here in Paradise. Now, I want to make two things perfectly clear to all my biker friends. One, I have an Indian and you (probably) don't. Two, there is absolutely NO correlation between the acquisition of a bike and the paving of the road.  None. Zero. Nada.

There is lots of stuff going on at the winery. Wine Appreciation Classes. Home wine-making classes. Chocolate, which is one of the basic food groups. Green Wine.

The downtown store looks terrific thanks to the decorating skills of Tasting Room Manager Cathy (also a biker) and her daughter (also a biker). Stop by and see it.

Happy 2008!

John, The Vintner
