Adams County Winery is "off the beaten track", and is close to major cities including Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Washington, DC. It's just minutes from historical locations including the Gettysburg Battlefield and other Civil War sites. The Winery is easily reached via major Pennsylvania highways including the PA Turnpike, Interstate 81 and PA Route 15 and Route 30. To Our Farm Winery: From Gettysburg: Proceed west on Route 30 from the Gettysburg Square; in approx. 5 miles, veer left on Old Route 30 toward McKnightstown. Drive 2 miles, turn left onto Orrtanna Rd., and follow the blue highway signs. If you have missed the Old Route 30 turn, you can turn left at the blinking yellow light, towards Cashtown in approx. 3 miles. There are well-marked blue highway signs for the Winery at this intersection and every turn you'll make from here. Proceed towards Cashtown for one mile. After one mile, the road dead-ends. Turn left. In 100 yards, turn right, following the sign to Orrtanna. In about one mile, you'll come to another dead-end and stop sign; turn right. You will be immediately facing a fork in the road. Keep to the left branch. In less than a mile, at the bottom of the hill, turn right on Peach Tree Road. In 1/3 mile, turn left onto the winery's paved driveway and proceed 1/4 mile to our Winery. From Chambersburg: Proceed east on Route 30 for 20 miles. Turn right at the blinking yellow light. Follow the blue signs for the winery for the remaining 3 miles. From Wall Drug, SD: Get in your car. Drive 300 miles east of Badlands National Park to Sioux Falls. Fly to Baltimore. Follow the directions from Baltimore, below. Tell us you read this and receive a free logo corkscrew. From Washington, DC: Take I-270 to Frederick, then 15 north to Gettysburg. Proceed west on Route 30. After the Gettysburg Square; in approx. 5 miles, veer left on Old Route 30 toward McKnightstown. Drive 2 miles, turn left onto Orrtanna Rd., and follow the blue highway signs. If you have missed the Old Route 30 turn, you can turn left, in approximately 3 miles, at the flashing yellow light. There are well-marked blue signs for the winery at every intersection. From Philadelphia: Drive the PA Turnpike West to Harrisburg. Take the Route 15 exit south to Gettysburg. Turn west on Route 30, and drive through the town square. In approx. 5 miles, veer left on Old Route 30 toward McKnightstown. Drive 2 miles, turn left onto Orrtanna Rd., and follow the blue highway signs. If you have missed the Old Route 30 turn, you can turn left, in approx. 3 miles, at the flashing yellow light. There are well-marked blue signs for the winery at every intersection. From Baltimore: From the 695 loop, take I-795 towards Reisterstown. In 8.7 miles, merge onto MD 140W towards Westminster. In 12.6 miles, take MD 97N to Gettysburg. From the Gettysburg town square, take US 30 west. In approx. 5 miles, veer left on Old Route 30 toward McKnightstown. Drive 2 miles, turn left onto Orrtanna Rd., and follow the blue highway signs. If you have missed the Old Route 30 turn, you can turn left, in approx. 3 miles, at the flashing yellow light. There are well-marked blue signs for the winery at every intersection. From St Louis, MO: Fly to Baltimore. Rent car. Follow above directions from Baltimore. From Orlando, FL: Fly to Baltimore. Rent car. Follow above directions from Baltimore. From Ohio: Drive to I-70 East. Drive East on I-70. In Pennsylvania, pick up the PA Turnpike East. Drive on the turnpike to the Breezewood exit. Pay the nice toll taker in the booth. Take US 30 east to Chambersburg. Follow directions from Chambersburg.
