A Legacy of Collaboration
When John Kramb and Katherine Bigler purchased Adams County Winery in 1988, they quickly realized the value of Destination Gettysburg’s support. The previous owners, Tom and Bev Campbell, emphasized the importance of the organization in promoting the winery, and John and Katherine saw that value firsthand.
Since then, our partnership has grown stronger each year, built on a shared passion for celebrating the beauty, history, and craftsmanship of our region.
“Our 35-year partnership with Destination Gettysburg has been invaluable,” said Adams County Winery General Manager Dan Baumgardner. “They truly care about our beautiful and historical community; specifically, the people and businesses that work so hard generation after generation making sure visitors to the area have positive and memorable experiences.”
Supporting Local Experiences Through the “Pour Tour”
Adams County Winery is proud to be a part of Destination Gettysburg’s “Adams County Pour Tour.” This popular initiative invites visitors to explore the area while enjoying its diverse offerings of wines, ciders, spirits, meads, and craft brews. Guests can collect stamps from tasting rooms throughout Gettysburg and the surrounding countryside, turning their journey into an unforgettable experience of Adams County’s best flavors.
A Tradition of Excellence
Since opening in 1975, Adams County Winery has been a cornerstone of the Gettysburg area, offering exceptional wines and unforgettable experiences. Nestled in the rolling hills of Orrtanna, PA, our Farm Winery operates out of a historic 1860s bank barn and produces over 40,000 gallons of wine annually. Our vineyard spans more than 12 acres and features five grape varieties, which we craft into our award-winning wines.
Our iconic Tears of Gettysburg wine, introduced in 1988, remains one of our most popular offerings and one of Pennsylvania’s oldest continuously produced wines. Over the years, we’ve been honored as a 10-time winner of Best Winery in the Gettysburg’s Greatest Awards, solidifying our place as a beloved destination for locals and visitors alike.
Cheers to the Future
As we celebrate this 35-year partnership, we extend our deepest gratitude to Destination Gettysburg for their unwavering support and shared commitment to showcasing all that Adams County has to offer. Together, we look forward to many more years of welcoming visitors, creating memories, and sharing the magic of locally crafted wine.
