This complex Chardonnay was fermented and aged in 100% new French oak barrels. The freshly pressed and settled Chardonnay juice was inoculated with yeast in a stainless-steel tank, then the new barrels were filled once the fermentation had started.
After fermentation, the wine was aged in the barrels on its lees for 15 months to increase the roundness on the palate mouthfeel and integrate the oaky flavors into the wine.
This wine has been bottled unfiltered to preserve the wine’s balance and mouthfeel.
This Vintner’s Reserve Chardonnay boasts of toasted walnuts at first, followed by soft caramel, with a hint of butterscotch. Then notes of citrus, lemongrass and eucalyptus follow. This wine has a long finish enhanced by the tannic frame and the warming feeling of the alcohol.
